Senior Adult Ministry

image of Rev. Brenda AdkinsSenior Adult Ministry Council: Rev. Brenda Adkins works with the Sr. Adult Council which plans exciting opportunities for Christian fun, fellowship, and service. This Council meets bi-monthly to coordinate, organize senior activities, share a meal and discuss events. Everyone is welcome. In fact, the more the merrier! Join us as we live into the joy God has available for us and as we reach out to others as one in Christ at FUMC Georgetown. Contact Rev. Brenda Adkins for more information.

PALS Place, Adult Respite Care: PALS Place is an outreach ministry of FUMC and is free to participants (donations are always appreciated). Registration is open to caregivers and their loved ones in the early stages of dementia in the Georgetown area. PALS Place offers a variety of activities including crafts, exercise, music, devotional, games, special programs and lunch. PALS gather Mondays from 10:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m., except holidays. For more information contact First United Methodist Church at 863-2370 or Rev. Brenda Adkins. PALS Place Volunteer opportunities.

Senior Adult Day Trips are fun trips, fellowship times and educational opportunities. We travel in the church bus leaving from the church parking lot early in the morning to visit interesting places around the Georgetown area. On almost every trip we take time to enjoy a meal together and stop for an ice cream treat whenever we can. Join us for the fun. The more the merrier! Contact the church for more information.

Visitation - Join our Lay Pastoral Care Ministry which visits hospital patients and shut-ins, nursing homes and retirement centers. We deliver Christmas Poinsettias on Christmas Day and Easter Lily's on Easter Sunday. This ministry shows God's love and demonstrates God's presence to those who are no longer able to worship at FUMC. We regularly visit members and relatives of our members and help others whenever we can. Join us for this meaningful ministry. We meet as a committee bi-monthly.
